How many photo styles should guests choose from?

Offer only the photo styles that serve the event idea. More choices create more artwork, testing and guest decision time. A single clear treatment can be more useful than a large menu of options that differ only slightly.
Give every option a job
Identify why each style exists. It might represent an approved theme, audience choice or sponsor requirement. Remove options that add no meaningful difference to the participant’s takeaway.
Show realistic previews and plain labels. Guests should understand a choice without asking the attendant for a description of every treatment. Test how long unfamiliar people take to select one.
Budget the review work
Every style needs sample review, delivery checks and approval. If prints are offered, each relevant output needs its own proof. Keep the selection manageable enough that the team can review all of it properly.
Use the remove-one-option test
For each style, finish the sentence: “This option exists because [distinct participant need or approved theme].” If removing it changes nothing except the menu length, remove it before testing.
Then show the remaining previews to someone unfamiliar with the project. Ask them to choose and explain the difference in their own words. Labels that require staff translation are not yet useful choices.
Fotozap supports multiple creative treatments, but a technical ability to offer more is not a reason to offer everything. Keep variants only when the differences are meaningful in the actual output and all of them have been reviewed. More unapproved options are more unfinished work, not more value.
