Using a photo experience at a recruiting event

A recruiting-event photo experience should give attendees a useful or enjoyable takeaway without confusing it with the application process. Keep participation optional and give the employer’s next step its own clear route. A photo delivery address is not automatically a recruiting lead with permission for every use.

Choose the offer

Decide whether the output is a branded event portrait, a professional-style photo or a themed image. Describe the actual deliverable accurately. If the treatment transforms someone’s appearance, show an approved example before they participate.

Separate photo staff from recruiters when their conversations have different purposes. Attendees should know when they are posing and when they are discussing a role or submitting candidate information.

Keep the handoff clear

Use the approved careers destination if the delivery page includes a next step. Have recruiting and event owners review the wording and information requested.

Plan participation around class breaks or scheduled sessions if the event is on campus. Prepare guest instructions that explain the photo flow without making it look like a required application step.

Give the participant two separate next steps

The photo step should explain how to retrieve the image. The recruiting step should explain where to see roles, speak with a recruiter or apply. Put each in the appropriate part of the journey rather than making staff negotiate their relationship on the floor.

A sample planning statement is: “Photo participation is optional. Candidates use the approved careers route for applications. Photo delivery uses the configured event flow.” Adapt the statement to the actual program and its approved participant wording.

If the offer is a headshot, show a representative headshot. If it is a themed portrait, call it that. The name of the offer should describe the image people receive, not a more valuable service they may assume is included.
