Photo booth shift changes: what the next attendant needs

March 20, 2019

Updated October 31, 2026

Transfer more than the device at a photo booth shift change. The incoming attendant needs to know current supply levels, unresolved guest requests, schedule changes and any operating issue. Make the handoff while the outgoing person is still available.

Review the live state.

Check the active creative and confirm the next scheduled event moment. Count or assess the supplies using the provider’s process. Identify pending print pickups and delivery issues without exposing participant details to the queue.

Walk through the support route. If someone is already investigating a problem, name the contact and current agreed workaround so the next attendant does not restart the conversation.

Keep service coverage explicit

Decide whether capture pauses during the handoff or another staff member covers guests. Explain any short pause rather than allowing a line to form around an apparently abandoned station.

Use a compact checklist, not a second event manual. Attach it to the attendant brief, and include the final closing responsibility so the last shift knows who accepts equipment and remaining outputs.

Read back the next hour

The incoming attendant should be able to state: “We are running [creative]; the next pause is [time]; supplies are [status]; these guest requests remain open; support is [contact]; closing is owned by [person].”

Use a short written status and a verbal read-back. That catches a missed schedule change before the outgoing attendant leaves.

Do not transfer open requests with “someone is dealing with it.” Name the person and the last agreed action. If participant information is needed, point to its approved record rather than copying it into every shift note. The handoff should preserve service continuity without multiplying personal data.

Running one of these?
