The questions legal will ask before your activation ships

September 22, 2026

Bring legal, IT and procurement into planning before the creative is finalized. Their requirements can affect the capture flow, data handling and launch schedule.

Use these questions to prepare the review.

What are we collecting, and what will participants see? Provide the field list and the exact wording shown in the experience. Identify where participants see that information and how their choices are recorded.

Can we retrieve the consent information for one record? Ask the provider to show the process, including how the information follows a contact into other systems.

How long do we hold the data, and who decides? Agree on a retention period and a process for changing it.

How can someone request access or removal? Make the request route public and explain what information the team needs to locate a photo. Ours is a form and a published policy.

What happens if a minor takes part? Have the privacy team define the requirements and review how the experience will meet them.

IT and access

Where is the data stored? Ask for the available regions and confirm whether they meet the program’s requirements.

How do staff sign in, and how is access removed? Review the available sign-in methods, permissions and process for removing access when someone leaves.

What needs access to our network? Document the devices, network connections and services the experience uses.

Who can change creative, and what is logged? Confirm the permissions for your team, agency and local operators, and ask what change history is available.

Procurement

Who will complete the security questionnaire, and by when? Include the review in the launch schedule and identify an owner on each side.

What contracts and supporting documents are required? Confirm the DPA, insurance documents, MSA and any custom terms your team needs. Agree on who reviews changes and signs off.

Start the review with the brief

Send the requirements early enough to resolve gaps before the launch date is committed. Contact our team about your review.
